Grace City’s Weekend Away is all about growing in community under God’s Word. It is a wonderful opportunity to get away from the distractions of our busy lives and delve deeply into the Bible, encouraging one another and building each other up. Over meals, cups of coffee and evening activities, and through in-depth talks and discussion groups, we will build deep community, learn and grow in our faith, and have plenty of time to rest and relax (with lots of fun to be had!)

Each year we endeavour to accommodate as many people as possible at Weekend Away, while keeping costs to a minimum. For this reason we encourage sharing rooms with your friends! This not only increases our sense of community and gives us the rare opportunity to hang out in this fun, social way, it also allows us to accommodate more people without increasing ticket prices (because each room contains 5-6 beds... sharing rooms means that very few beds will go to 'waste'). With this in mind, please note our three accommodation styles:



Most guests attending Weekend Away will be accommodated in either male or female rooms. Each room has an ensuite and you can choose your room and roommates upon arrival. Please note that it is first in, best dressed… so get to Weekend Away early to have your pick!

FAMILY ROOMS (for parents and children)

Families with children will be accommodated in private rooms near the dining and main session hall. We hope this makes supervision throughout the weekend more convenient. Please note that, while registering, you will have the option to book a portacot for your infant and/or request a late check out on Sunday if your infant needs to continue sleeping throughout the day.

LUXURY ROOMS (available to our more mature members)

For our more mature members (who have perhaps passed the days of sharing rooms) we have a limited number of Luxury Rooms available for your comfort and convenience. Each year we strive to make Weekend Away a high quality event at an affordable price. Your ticket includes: accommodation, meals and snacks, activities and additional extras (eg. booklets for adults, programs for kids, etc) as well as a 2.9% booking fee. We encourage you to take advantage of our early bird special.

Each year there are people who would love to attend Weekend Away, but are restricted by their financial circumstances. If you would like to generously provide a ticket to someone who may need it, please purchase a “Donate a Ticket” option and we will allocate it accordingly. Please note that the giver and receiver will remain anonymous.

Weekend Away is a great time for adults and kids to gather together and grow in community as a church, while also growing in our love and understanding of God and His Word. While parents are listening to the Bible being taught and discussed, City Creche, Tots and Cubs will be well looked after in their own programs, learning big Bible truths through stories, songs and activities. Throughout the weekend City Kids will be looked after by Grace City leaders and members, as well as parent volunteers.

Volunteering in City Kids

Weekend Away is a perfect time to come together in community and serve alongside one another.  This year, everyone who registers for Weekend Away will be asked to volunteer to serve in one area, such as set up, serving meals, or helping on one City Kids session.  As parents register themselves, they will have the opportunity to join in on the fun and learning in our City Kids programs by volunteering for a session by choosing “1 x City Kids session”.  Only one parent needs to sign up to serve in City Kids, but both parents are welcome to choose this option! If you are signing up multiple children, you will be able to put the same parent’s name for each child.  Once each volunteer has been allocated to a session, details will be sent out about what is involved and which session you will be serving on. We hope that seeing ‘behind the scenes’ in City Kids will be informative and encouraging for you as you get to see what your children participate in each week!

Registration for City Kids

When registering your child, you will be asked to tick which sessions your children will be attending City Kids. This is to ensure we provide a safe environment with great leader to kid ratios across the weekend! If your plans change after registration, please let us know via the email listed below so we know when to expect your children in City Kids!


City Creche

Creche will have their own program during each of the adult sessions where they will enjoy singing songs, reading Bible stories and play!

City Tots

Throughout the weekend, City Tots will engage in reading Bible stories, making crafts, singing songs, playing and enjoying other great activities.

City Cubs

City Cubs will be learning deep Bible truths through stories, craft and singing songs, along with  games and other fun activities.

What's the theme for the Weekend?

Each year, we dig into a specific theme by looking at what the Bible has to say and spending time in discussion groups. This year's theme is yet to be revealed... so stay tuned! (although we can tell you now - it's going to be juicy!)


Can I come just for the day?

Weekend Away is an incredibly important time in our church calendar. It is a true blessing that we're able to go away for a whole weekend to learn and grow and laugh and rest. While the temptation can often be to visit for the day... Weekend Away is most fruitful for those who can be there the whole time (from Friday night to Sunday afternoon). This is why we work so hard to accommodate everyone and design a program that is rich with variety. So at this stage we'd like to encourage everyone to make the most of coming for the entire weekend. It is likely, however, that we will make some day-tickets available closer to the event.


What should I bring?

Once we're closer to the date of Weekend Away, all attendees will receive an Information Pack detailing what to bring, how to get there, what to expect, etc. The short answer is that you'll need to bring your own linen, toiletries, clothing and shoes.
